This program is for anyone 8 years of age or older. Parents are welcome and encouraged to participate the same days, at the same prices. Adult classes are available at all levels. We are also offering Shred School for teens 13 and older. These lessons focus on riding the whole mountain. Participants need to confidently link turns on blue terrain and be willing to learn new stuff which includes the terrain park.

If you don’t attend the first lesson, you will need to contact Powderhorn about making this class up. You must complete this first all-day beginner lesson before you can participate in the homeschool program. The following weeks you are only required to take a half-day lesson. This all-day lesson (Jan 13 only) includes lift ticket and rentals for $50. When making your reservations, please specify skier or boarder.

When are the Homeschool Ski and Snowboard Days?
Fridays: January 13, 20, 27 and February 3, 10 and 17. Please arrive by 8:30 am the first week to allow for adequate time to check in. Participants must check-in and pay at the homeschool table in the lobby. Lessons begin at 10:00 and end at noon. Skier/boarders are not allowed on the slopes before their lessons. Please call Tamar or Laura between 7-7:15 am on Friday morning if you must cancel due to illness. Feel free to email Tamar or Laura with any questions you might have.

Myth:
There has been a rumor floating around that if you do not attend the first week, you cannot ski the entire season. That is untrue. You may come any or all of the weeks listed above. However, if you have never skied before, a full day lesson must be taken before you can participate in the half-day program. We hope to see you on the slopes for another great season!!

About Taneil

I am the wife to my wonderful husband Gil who is a handyman. The mother of eight children and I have been homeschooling my children since my oldest was born. However, she official started "school" in 2007 at the age of 5. We use the curriculum Tapestry of Grace for the humanities and then multiple other curriculum for other subjects. I love teaching my children about the greatness of our Lord and Savior.
