Homeschool Testing in Grand Junction offered by Classical Conversations
The Stanford-10 National Achievement Test (SAT-10) is a nationally-recognized test used by educators across the United States, particularly in private schools and homeschools. As a norm-referenced test, the Stanford-10 not only offers the home educator information on their student’s achievement, it also provides comparisons based on nationwide test results. The first version of the Stanford Achievement series was published in 1926. Its history and academic excellence has earned its acceptance as a nationally normed achievement test and meets most states’ testing requirements.
We offer the Unabbreviated Stanford Achievement Test, Tenth Edition for K-12th grades. For K-3rd grade we use the Form A (traditional language section) for 4th-12th grades we use Form D (comprehensive language section).
Even though the tests are not timed, we offer schedules as general guidelines. Statistics show that 95% of students finish in the alloted time. We have found the recommended schedule works for most students. We don’t want to rush anyone, but we don’t want to frustrate those who have finished. If time allows, the Test Coordinator will allow the student to finish the incomplete sections at the end of the day. Pearson suggests that more time can be given if the student is working productively, but not more than one and a half times more.
