Are you thinking about homeschooling?
Are you just starting out and need some pointers?
Are you already homeschooling but need a little encouragement, practical support, or clarification of Colorado Homeschool Law?
This FREE Introduction to Homeschooling Seminar is for you!
SPICE at Home is the Grand Junction region’s support for homeschoolers, and Colorado’s statewide support organization, CHEC (Christian Home Educators of Colorado) is partnering with us to bring this introductory seminar to Grand Junction. We know it can be intimidating to decipher state laws regarding homeschooling, plus there are so many options out there for curriculum and, frankly, how does it look on a practical day-to-day basis? We’ll have experienced homeschool veterans talking about Colorado Homeschool Law, the Nuts & Bolts of how it all works, and developing a vision behind your family’s decision to homeschool, and how there can be so much more than just a “good education at home.” Whether you’re just starting out for the first time with a kindergartner, pulling older kids out of the public school system, or learning how to homeschool independent of any government program, this free seminar will have helpful information for your family. You’ll learn more about additional support organizations, as well, like CHEC (statewide support) and the Homeschool Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) for national support and legal protection.
Join SPICE on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Clifton Bible Chapel (523 32 Road) from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM for three 50-minute sessions as we cover the basics of homeschooling.
We encourage couples to attend together, if possible, and grandparents are welcome as well. Please plan your own childcare arrangements for younger children. If obtaining childcare is a hardship that would prevent you from being able to attend, please let us know in your contact information (register below).
Light snacks and hot drinks will be provided during breaks.
Please register as soon as possible using the form below. If you have any questions, please use the comments/requests portion of the form to do so.
We look forward to serving you!
